Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: Full-time (Term Time)

We’re looking for experienced individuals from diverse backgrounds – whether you’ve worked in schools, care environments, supported vulnerable children in the community, or have personal experience, we want to hear from you!

By joining our pool of SEN Teaching Assistants, you’ll have the opportunity to work 1:1, in small groups, or across classrooms, using your expertise to help every child reach their potential. 

An understanding of SEN such as Autism, ADHD, Mental Health in Children or any other additional need is required. By bringing your compassion, understanding, and expertise, you’ll be helping children overcome barriers, engage with learning, and reach their full potential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with children who have additional needs, providing tailored academic and emotional support.
  • Collaborate with class teachers to create inclusive lesson activities and learning plans.
  • Assist with general classroom tasks, adapting resources for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive, engaging environment, helping to manage behaviour and encourage participation.
  • Monitor progress and share observations with teaching staff and SENCo.

Essential Experience/Attributes:

  • Background working with children with SEN, gained through schools, care environments, or other relevant settings.
  • Ability to adapt approaches to different age groups, needs, and classroom situations.
  • A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, working well within a team.
  • Empathetic and flexible, capable of supporting various needs simultaneously.
