Our client, a reputable secondary school located in Worthing, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their SEND team. This is a full-time role starting in September 2024, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pastoral Support: Provide emotional and social support to students, helping to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Academic Assistance: Support students in their academic pursuits, working closely with teachers to deliver tailored assistance and interventions.
- Individualized Learning: Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Classroom Management: Help manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Communication: Liaise with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the holistic development of students.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within a secondary school setting is desirable.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Qualities: A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or SEND are an advantage but not essential.
