We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 student who requires additional help with managing behaviour and emotional regulation.
This rewarding role involves working with a young boy who has challenging behaviours, including self-harming and aggression towards peers. He is now transitioning into a new learning environment, with support from the Local Education Authority (LEA), who are developing an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) to meet his needs.
Key responsibilities:
The child is bright, with an advanced reading level. They thrive in outdoor play settings and responds well to structured but flexible approaches to learning. You will play a key role in helping them feel secure, understood, and engaged in school.
About You: We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and resilient, with experience in supporting children with challenging behaviors. You should be comfortable adapting to the child’s needs as his emotional triggers are still being fully understood. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with the school, SENCO to ensure the best possible support is provided.
