Part-Time Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Position: Part-Time Year 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Chichester Area
Hours: 3 days per week
Start Date: Immediate

Are you looking to work with children at a key developmental age? We are working with a school who are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team in Year 2. Their close-knit, community-focused primary school is committed to providing a nurturing environment that values the development and well-being of every child. They pride ourselves on our inclusive approach and our dedication to fostering a positive and enriching learning experience where every child can thrive.

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to both the teacher and students, helping to create a positive learning environment. You will be involved in various classroom activities, working one-on-one, leading small groups in pre-set work, and assisting with both academic and personal development tasks, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery.
  • Support individual students or small groups to enhance their learning.
  • Help manage classroom resources and materials.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with record-keeping and monitoring pupil progress.
  • Supervise children during break times and on school trips.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Basic understanding of the primary school curriculum.
  • A current DBS that is on the update service or are willing to obtain one.
