Teaching Assistant (SEMH) – Worthing, West Sussex – Full-time – £79 per day, term time, 8:45 – 3:45 (4:15 on Mondays).
A special educational needs school is seeking a teaching assistant to join its wonderful team. The school boasts excellent resources and is supported by an outstanding senior leadership team, providing regular training opportunities to ensure staff are well-equipped to support the students.
The successful candidate will be working with young people who have social, emotional, and mental health needs. Although the role may be challenging at times, it is an extremely rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, empathetic, and understanding. The young people, who are in key stages 3 and 4, have difficulty regulating their emotions and may exhibit challenging behaviour.
While experience with special educational needs or classroom experience is preferred, the school welcomes applicants who have experience with mental health, a keen interest in child psychology, or other settings working with children and young people such as nurseries, youth clubs, and volunteer work. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people and be committed to helping them reach their full potential.
The position offers a pay rate of £79 per day and is term-time only (until perm, then all year around) and 39 weeks per year. The applicant must have a child enhance DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one for employment, with assistance provided by the school.
This is a 12-week temp-to-perm contract, providing the opportunity for the successful candidate to secure a permanent position within the school following a successful probationary period.
If you possess the qualities required for this role and are enthusiastic about making a positive impact in the lives of young people, apply now to join this special educational needs school.
