Job Title: Supply & General Cover Teacher
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £130 per day
Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temporary, Term Time Only (plus INSET days)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

We are looking for a versatile and committed Supply & General Cover Teacher to join our client secondary school in Portsmouth on a temporary basis. In this role, you will provide high-quality teaching and learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will need to be adaptable and ready to cover a variety of subjects across the school, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Manage classroom behavior in accordance with the school’s policies, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Support students’ learning and progress by providing feedback and assistance as required.
  • Quickly adapt to new classroom environments and build positive relationships with students.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks related to teaching, including marking and reporting on student progress.

Requirements:

  • Must have an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • Must have completed safeguarding training.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience in teaching across different subjects and year groups is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a positive approach to teaching and learning.
