General Supply Teacher

Job Title: Supply & General Cover Teacher
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £130 per day
Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temporary, Term Time Only (plus INSET days)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

We are looking for a versatile and committed Supply & General Cover Teacher to join our client secondary school in Portsmouth on a temporary basis. In this role, you will provide high-quality teaching and learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will need to be adaptable and ready to cover a variety of subjects across the school, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Manage classroom behavior in accordance with the school’s policies, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
Support students’ learning and progress by providing feedback and assistance as required.
Quickly adapt to new classroom environments and build positive relationships with students.
Work collaboratively with other staff members and contribute to the wider school community.
Complete necessary administrative tasks related to teaching, including marking and reporting on student progress.

Requirements:

Must have an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
Must have completed safeguarding training.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
Experience in teaching across different subjects and year groups is desirable.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
Flexibility, resilience, and a positive approach to teaching and learning.
