Are you confident, adaptable, and passionate about working with young people in an educational setting? A well-regarded secondary school in the East Grinstead area is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Study Supervisor to join their team from April 2025.

About the Role

As a Study Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of the class teacher. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused and on task.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and assisting students with their work where necessary.
  • Supporting students in maintaining high standards of engagement and behaviour.
  • Building positive relationships with students, encouraging their progress and participation.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other colleagues to ensure smooth lesson delivery.

This is a full-time, term-time role, initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Confident in managing groups of students and maintaining classroom control.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and proactive, able to think on your feet in a busy school environment.
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to supporting student success.
  • Experienced in working with young people, preferably in an educational setting (desirable but not essential).
