Job Description: Teaching Assistant – Special Needs School in Chichester

Hours: 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday
Location: Chichester
Pay: £84 per day
Contract: Long-term, ongoing
Start Date: ASAP or January

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a special needs school in Chichester, supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with a range of needs. This is a highly rewarding role in a school that uses positive reinforcement, distraction, and humour to manage and support challenging behaviour effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with varying needs, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with classroom activities, adapting resources to meet the unique needs of each child.
• Support students with challenging behaviour by employing the school’s methods of positive reinforcement, distraction, and humour.
• Collaborate with a close-knit team to create a nurturing and safe environment.
• Build trusting and positive relationships with pupils, helping them grow in confidence and independence.
• Contribute to a fun and engaging learning atmosphere, meeting the diverse needs of children and young people.
