Senior Youth Worker – Start ASAP  – Full-time (40 hours per week) – Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, UK.

Our Client is a fantastic, forward-thinking & ambitious therapeutic service for children. They manage a set of residential children’s homes for young people aged 5-16 who are in receipt of an EHCP because they experience a range of social, emotional and mental health difficulties or other associated difficulties. In some cases, trauma, neglect & abuse are the main factors contributing to the young peoples requirements.

Our Client is looking for Youth Workers who will:

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager in the day-to-day running and operation of the Home, including managing the team and providing supervision to team members.
  • Share responsibility for the health and safety of all adults and children in the home, as well as contracted workers and visitors.
  • Share responsibility for safeguarding and protecting all children living in the home.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, and provide high standards of care and education to the children in the Home.
  • Contribute to the improvement plan of the Home and actively participate in enhancing the therapeutic care and education provision.
  • Manage resources, including financial processes and efficient use of resources.
  • Support colleagues in meeting the emotional, safeguarding, social, psychological, educational, and academic needs of the children in the home.
  • Foster positive relationships and effective communication with colleagues, external networks, and the wider community.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a Residential Children’s Home and knowledge of an SEMH school or similar learning environment.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by the children in our care and the ability to encourage their development and potential.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, along with ICT proficiency.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and guide others in the therapeutic task.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
  • Commitment to personal development and ongoing training.
  • Full clean driving license desired.

Contract Type: Permanent immediately.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week. 5 x 8 hour shifts per week (0730-1530 & 1430-2230). Weekend work & sleep-ins are required. Sleep-ins are paid at £65 per sleep-in.
Salary: £25,394 to £27,757 per annum

The children’s homes are committed to the development of our staff team and offer continual professional development including the opportunity to undertake Level 3 Diploma Working with Children and Young People, as well as basic training to work safely and effectively in the homes. There are incredible progression opportunities with the natural progression.
