Job Title: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher

Location: Brighton, East Sussex

Are you a passionate and dedicated educator with a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join our dynamic team in Brighton.

Responsibilities:

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons: Create and implement effective, differentiated lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEND.

  2. Individualised Learning: Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs, ensuring academic and personal growth.

  3. Collaborate with colleagues: Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and other teachers to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

  4. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as needed to promote positive outcomes.

  5. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, guardians, and external professionals involved in the students’ care to ensure a collaborative approach to support.

  6. Inclusive Practices: Foster an inclusive and accepting classroom environment that encourages the social and emotional well-being of students with SEND.

Requirements:

  1. Teaching Qualifications: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with specific training or experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

  2. Experience: Demonstrable experience working with students with SEND in a teaching capacity.

  3. Knowledge: Stay abreast of the latest developments in SEND education, best practices, and relevant legislation.

  4. Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and needs.

  5. Team Player: Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  6. Passion: Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting the academic and personal development of students with SEND.
