Position: Midday Meal Supervisor (SEND Support)
Location: Worthing
Hours: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM, with the opportunity for additional hours if desired
Job Type: Full Time, Monday – Friday
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Midday Meal Supervisor, supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) during lunchtime activities. You will work with both primary and secondary-aged children with a range of complex needs, providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment during their midday break.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Support students with SEND during lunchtime, assisting with meals and lunchtime activities.
- Encourage social interaction, promote positive behaviour, and help children engage in structured play and relaxation activities.
- Provide 1:1 or group support to children who may require additional assistance.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students, addressing any concerns following safeguarding procedures.
- Help manage challenging behavior in line with school policies.
- Collaborate with other school staff to ensure a smooth and inclusive lunchtime experience.
**What We Are Looking For:**
- Experience working with children with SEND or similar support roles is desirable but not essential.
- A calm, patient, and caring demeanor with the ability to handle challenging behaviors positively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with children and staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability to cover additional hours if required.
- Passion for supporting children’s social and emotional development.
