Hours: 08:30 to 15:30, full time

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled SEN Individual Needs Assistant to join our supportive team at a primary school in Horsham. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic about helping children thrive in their personal development and academic progress in a nurturing school environment.

Whether you have direct experience working with SEN children in educational settings, come from a care background, have studied psychology, or have personal experience supporting individuals with additional needs, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Work 1:1 with pupils with special educational needs to support their learning and development.
Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
Assist with personal care needs where necessary.
Encourage social interaction and communication within the classroom.

Essential Experience/Attributes:

Previous experience working with children with SEN.
Experience working with either ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), speech and language, or behavioural challenges.
A DBS check registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of pupils.
Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality policies.
