SEMH Teaching Assistant – Redhill, Surrey – 32.5 hours per week 8:30 – 3:30

Pink Tile Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for our client, an inspiring school in Redhill. The pupil community is small and diverse, spanning  KS1 to KS4. You will support the team in providing an opportunity for these young people to re-engage and enjoy the core curriculum, as well as other activities. The school aim to provide the best possible learning experience to all of their pupils whilst fostering to a safe, happy and family-orientated environment. They host young people with various academic abilities, but often struggle with SEMH issues, ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism to name just a few.

This is a long-term, ongoing placement with a view to make permanent for the right candidate. 

£76 per day minimum, 6.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday, term time only.
Requirements

  • Experience working with children & young people with behaviour management
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain one (we can help you to obtain one before your start date)
  • A thick skin, patience and resilience with very challenging behaviour
  • Able to adapt to the different needs of each student
  • Confident working with children & young people in Alternative Provision/Pupil Referral Unit
  • Experience working with children & young people in Alternative Provision/Pupil Referral Unit (desired)
