We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in a specialist school supporting children aged 6-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping vulnerable young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH and SEND on a one-to-one basis and in group settings.
- Assist in delivering lessons and activities tailored to meet individual student needs across various subjects and age groups.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and resilience.
- Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using school strategies to maintain a safe learning space.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
- Encourage students’ social and emotional development, building trust and confidence to help them achieve their potential.
- Monitor and provide feedback on student progress, ensuring holistic support and regular communication with staff and families.
- Follow safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
