Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Special Education Teacher to join the schools’ dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional education to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional well-being.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods and materials as necessary.
  • Foster effective communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and individualized goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.
  • Flexibility and willingness to teach a variety of subjects based on the needs of the students.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
