We are looking for a committed and empathetic Teacher to join a vibrant SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school. The role involves working with Primary-aged students who have complex needs and may exhibit challenging behaviours. This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent position, offering a unique chance to make a lasting difference in students’ lives by teaching essential life skills through culinary education.
 
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
– Provide individualised and small group support, helping students develop practical cooking skills and a passion for learning.
– Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that promotes creativity and confidence.
– Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to create personalised learning plans addressing both academic and emotional needs.
– Manage challenging behaviour using school strategies, ensuring a safe and respectful learning space.
– Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development through food-related activities, helping them build resilience and life skills.
– Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and staff.
– Adhere to all safeguarding protocols, addressing concerns promptly according to school policies.
