Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant

Location: Newhaven

Salary: £84 per day

Contract: Monday – Friday 8.30-3.30 – Temp to perm (Term Time Only)

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our team and assist in delivering high-quality education to our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging and interactive lessons, providing support to secondary school students across various subjects.
  • Assist in implementing differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, encouraging academic growth and achievement.
  • Provide individualised support to students, helping them to develop key literacy, numeracy, and study skills necessary for success in secondary education.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respect, cooperation, and active participation among students.
  • Assist in the organisation and preparation of learning materials, resources, and activities, ensuring they align with the curriculum and meet the needs of all learners.
  • Support students with additional needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, by implementing tailored strategies and accommodations.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering open communication and collaboration to support student learning and well-being.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with students, preferably in a secondary school setting. (desired)
  • A genuine passion for education and a desire to support the academic and personal development of young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with secondary school students in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to working with adolescents of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of secondary education principles and practices. (desired)
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic school environment.
