Salary: Minimum £76 per day (Increasing in April)

Contract: Monday – Friday 8.30-3.30 – Temp to perm (Term Time Only)

About Us: Our schools are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for our primary school students with SEND. We believe in fostering a love for learning and supporting each child’s individual needs to help them reach their full potential. As we continue to prioritise the well-being and academic growth of our students, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to primary school students with SEND, both individually and in small groups, to ensure they can access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
Collaborate closely with primary school teachers to implement differentiated instruction and adapt teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND.
Support students in developing key literacy, numeracy, and social skills, fostering their confidence and independence in the classroom.
Work alongside the SENCO and other staff members to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students with SEND.
Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional well-being, self-esteem, and sense of belonging within the school community.
Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and participating in the evaluation and review of support interventions.
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, proactively managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive behaviour management strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience working with primary school students with SEND, preferably in an educational setting. (desirable)
A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young children with diverse needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a compassionate and nurturing approach to supporting primary school students with SEND.
Knowledge of SEND-related issues and strategies for supporting primary school students with a range of needs (e.g., autism, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties).
Relevant qualifications or training in supporting students with SEND in a primary school setting (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEND-specific training).
