Post-16 Teacher (ASD/SEMH)

Post-16 Teacher – Full-time – SEND School – Hailsham, East Sussex, UK.

Our Client is a forward-thinking SEND School catering for ASD & SEMH. This role is to develop, organise & teach the post-16 provision within the school. The staff team are a tight-knit, friendly and very supportive. The staff team work hard to achieve outstanding outcomes with their pupils. The school site is a marvellous environment with state of the art facilities and resources which enables purposeful teaching and learning to take place.

The curriculum recognises that some young people have a range of complex learning difficulties and disabilities; and it is this combination of two or more challenges that the curriculum is designed to meet by a personalised learning approach.

You must be a qualified teacher with PGCE, QTS or recognised equivalent. Alternatively, be experienced in post-16 teaching within SEND.

Key areas of responsibility:
Planning & preparation of classroom materials.
Work closely with pupils to support their learning & development.
Promote and enable social development opportunities.
Manage classroom behaviour/needs of young people.
Encourage & inspire young people to embark on post-16 activities, trips & on-site or off-site work experience.

The successful candidate will need to have experience in the following areas:
Creative approaches to learning in SEND.
An understanding or experience of the use of interventions within a SEND setting.
Post-16 teaching or training.

Rate of pay: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)

All candidates must be prepared to undertake a DBS check unless they have a current DBS on the update service.
