Job Title: Nurture Teacher or Nurture Instructor
Location: Coulsdon
Contract: Straight to Perm Contract, Full Time, Term Time
Start Date: As soon as possible, or 4th November
Salary: £24’000 – £26’000
Qualifications Needed: QTS is not needed, but a good level of experience working with ASC/SLD in an educational setting is needed.
 
We are working with a wonderful school that caters for young people aged 11-19 with an Education, Health and Care Plan whose needs range from Autism Spectrum condition and ADHD to other cognition needs and learning difficulties.
 

Due to student numbers, we are seeking an experienced Instructor/Teacher to work with our Nurture Group. This role involves teaching a small group of students with ASD/SLD.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Experience of teaching pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties, teaching in a SEN environment.

Excellent teaching methods

High expectations of both self and students

Effective communication skills

Experience using Makaton, TEACCH and PECS, Intensive Interaction and Attention Autism. 

Passion and commitment to inclusive education

 

 Candidate Qualities:
  • Patience and Resilience: You’ll need to stay calm and composed in challenging situations, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. 
  • Experience with SEND: Candidates will have experience supporting children with SEND 
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with other teachers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students. 
  • Confidence: QTS is not needed, but this teaching/instructing role will need good leadership and behaviour management (keeping on task, completing, etc).
