Job Title: Nursery Manager required ASAP
I am currently working with a Nursery nestled into the heart and countryside of West Sussex. This nursery is dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for your child’s development. Their experienced team of practitioners works closely with parents to create a tailored educational experience for each child, prioritising child-led activities within the EYFS framework.
Their approach emphasises quality care and effective communication with parents. They believe in building upon each child’s potential and achievements, promoting self-esteem and confidence in a safe and healthy environment.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nursery Manager to lead their team and oversee the daily operations of their nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education to children.
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (Level 5 or above preferred).
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an early years setting.
- Sound knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in early years education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire staff.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and commitment to maintaining high standards of care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines, including Ofsted requirements.
- Oversee the development and implementation of age-appropriate curricula and activities.
- Monitor and assess the progress of children, ensuring individual needs are met and documented.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Manage administrative tasks such as budgeting, staffing, and record-keeping.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care and education provided by the nursery.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulations and guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills to ensure the setting provides first-class childcare to children and families, fostering an enjoyable work environment for staff.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to children and their families, consistently going the extra mile to meet their needs.
- Work towards achieving Outstanding levels of childcare provision, continuously striving for improvement.
- Fulfill Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities, promoting the health, safety, and welfare of children, employees, and families.
- Make referrals to external agencies and regulatory bodies when necessary.
- Uphold and implement the ethos and values of the nursery.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education, providing in-house and external training as needed.
- Ensure full compliance of the nursery in all areas, including staffing ratios, health and safety, food safety, and allergy management.
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures while meeting external legislation and statutory requirements set by relevant bodies.
- Work towards achieving 100% occupancy at the nursery, identifying and capitalising on commercial opportunities to facilitate visits and bookings.
