Job Opportunity: Lunchtime Support Worker Assistant

Reports to: Senior Support Worker

Salary: £55 – £75 pd

Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 2:00pm. Part-time days of 3 or 4 per week will also be considered.

Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

Job Overview

Support autistic adults with their care needs, encouraging learning and development to help them reach their full potential. Assist the support worker team to ensure smooth delivery of care plans.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support learners with life skills development.
  • Prepare rooms/kitchens before and after lunchtimes.
  • Provide personal care, promoting independence.
  • Participate in off-site activities.
  • Maintain learning resources and center-wide stationery.
  • Build good relationships with learners, support workers, and parents.
  • Engage in personal development and training.
  • Develop knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Good numeracy and literacy.
  • Passion for learning disabilities.
  • Comfortable with challenging behaviour and personal care.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience with SEND is desirable.

Personal Qualities:

  • Achieves results efficiently and collaborates well.
  • Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively.
  • Plans for the future and takes advantage of learning opportunities.
