Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a SEND Primary School outside Horley. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help with classroom management and organization.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
