Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in their education journey? A highly regarded secondary school in the East Grinstead area is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team from April 2025.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting SEND learners, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of learning needs.
  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Supporting students with classroom adaptations and creating inclusive learning opportunities.
  • Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence, and key skills.
  • Working closely with the SEND team to ensure every child receives the individual care and support they need.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday during term time. Initially offered on a temporary basis, the position has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Passionate about supporting children with SEND and committed to their development.
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to individual needs.
  • Experienced in working with young people (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledgeable about SEND or willing to learn and develop in this area.
