Are you passionate about exploring the complexities of human society and culture? Do you have a talent for connecting historical events, literature, and philosophical ideas to the modern world? If so, we invite you to join our team as a Humanities Teacher.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive humanities curriculum that integrates history, literature, philosophy, religion, and the arts.
  • Facilitate meaningful discussions and critical analysis of primary and secondary sources to deepen students’ understanding of historical events, cultural movements, and societal issues.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore diverse perspectives and express their own opinions.
  • Utilise a variety of instructional strategies, including multimedia resources, project-based learning, and collaborative activities, to engage students and promote deeper learning.
  • Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including essays, presentations, projects, and exams, and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate humanities concepts across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary connections.
  • Stay informed about current events, cultural trends, and advancements in the field of humanities education to enhance the relevance and impact of instruction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, History, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification/license with a specialisation in humanities
  • Experience teaching humanities or related subjects at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of historical events, literary works, philosophical ideas, and cultural movements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate meaningful discussions and cultivate a supportive learning environment.
  • Passion for interdisciplinary teaching and the ability to make connections between different humanities disciplines.
  • Commitment to fostering critical thinking, empathy, and global awareness in students.
