Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

A leading secondary school in Crawley is seeking a skilled and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from April 2025. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced education professionals to make a significant impact, supporting both students and teachers in achieving outstanding outcomes.

Role Details:

  • Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Start Date: April 2025
  • Location: Crawley
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM start
  • Pay Rate: £120 per day
  • Requirements:
    • HLTA qualification or significant experience in a similar role.
    • Experience working with children or young people, ideally at the secondary school level.
    • A DBS on the update service.
    • Up-to-date safeguarding training.

What Does a HLTA Do?
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the education and development of students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering planned lessons to small groups or whole classes in the absence of the teacher.
  • Providing tailored support for students with varying needs, helping to close learning gaps.
  • Assisting in the planning and preparation of lessons, and developing resources to support learning.
  • Leading targeted interventions to boost students’ skills in core subjects such as English and Maths.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers to ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively.
  • Supporting student behavior and engagement, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
