Food Technology Teacher

Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Position: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £150 per day (depending on experience)

Pink Tile Education is proud to represent a large secondary school in Brighton, currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their well-established Technology department. This full-time, long-term position offers the opportunity to work with year groups from Year 7 to 11, covering all aspects of the Food Technology curriculum.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and informative lessons in Food Technology to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work that cater to the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
  • Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on activities to enhance students’ understanding and skills in food preparation, nutrition, and hygiene.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported, motivated, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Technology department to share resources, best practices, and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification in Food Technology.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology to secondary school students, preferably across a range of year groups.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting healthy eating, nutrition, and food sustainability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to upholding high standards of teaching and learning, promoting the school’s ethos and values.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate and up-to-date safeguarding training are mandatory.
