Position Title: SEND Blended Learning English Tutor

Department: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Reporting To: Head Teacher

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate Blended Learning English Tutor to join our dedicated team. This role involves working with students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, ensuring they have access to high-quality education in both face-to-face and remote settings. The ideal candidate will bring innovation, empathy, and enthusiasm to inspire students and help them succeed in their learning journey.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Prioritise the safety and well-being of all students, ensuring effective safeguarding measures are in place.

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive English lessons tailored to individual student needs, both in-person and online.

  • Support students in developing confidence, academic skills, and a positive attitude toward learning.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement effective lesson plans, learning resources, and blended curriculum strategies.

  • Regularly monitor, assess, and adapt teaching methods to maximise progress for all learners.

  • Provide individualised education plans (IEPs) that align with student needs, incorporating targets from EHCPs and other relevant resources.

  • Contribute to the development and review of teaching strategies and practices to ensure ongoing improvement.

  • Foster strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage their engagement and participation.

  • Support the school’s vision by actively participating in staff meetings, development opportunities, and wider school initiatives.
