Job Title: English Teacher (KS3 & KS4) Location: SEMH School, Surrey Guildford Salary: MPS/UPS plus TLR2 and SEN allowance of £2679 per annum
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at an SEMH school in the Surrey area. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
Create a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and a love for learning.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities and school events.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels.
Strong understanding of SEMH needs and experience working in an SEMH or similar setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for education.
