Role Overview:
As an Aspiring Teacher working as a Cover Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of regular teaching staff. You will supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring that pre-prepared work is completed and maintaining a positive learning environment. This role offers valuable experience for individuals aspiring to pursue a career in teaching, providing hands-on experience and exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of educators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising whole classes across various subjects and year groups.
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring that students remain on task.
• Managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive learning environment.
• Providing support to students who require assistance with their work.
• Liaising with teaching staff to ensure effective delivery of curriculum content.
• Completing administrative tasks as required, such as taking registers and reporting back to teaching staff.

Requirements:

• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching and a passion for working with young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Confidence in managing classroom behavior and maintaining order.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subjects and year groups.
• Previous experience working with children or young adults is desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS check is mandatory.
