The Role:

As a Compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

  1. Positive Behaviour Management: Implement and model effective behaviour management strategies, fostering a calm and supportive learning environment for students facing SEMH challenges.

  2. Individualized Support: Work closely with students on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing targeted support to address behavioural challenges and promote positive alternatives.

  3. Collaborate and Innovate: Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement innovative approaches that address the diverse behavioural needs of students.

  4. Empower Through Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of each student’s unique challenges, using empathy and compassion to guide your approach in supporting behavioural development.

  5. Promote Social Skills: Facilitate programs that focus on enhancing social skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation, empowering students to navigate the social complexities of daily life.

Requirements:

  1. Passion for Behavioural Support: Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH challenges, particularly in the realm of behavioural development.

  2. Resilience: Exhibit resilience in the face of challenges, remaining dedicated to supporting students through their behavioural transformations.

  3. Collaborative Spirit: Work collaboratively with colleagues, teachers, and therapists to create a cohesive team dedicated to the well-being of students.

  4. Empathy: Possess a deep sense of empathy, understanding the complexities of behavioural challenges and approaching each student with patience and understanding.
