Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist speech and language therapy to students with a range of communication needs.
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop tailored intervention plans to support students’ speech, language, and communication development.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, support teams, and external professionals to integrate therapy into the school environment.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring progress is monitored and adapted as needed.
  • Train and advise staff on communication strategies to enhance learning and inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to EHCPs and multi-agency meetings.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree and HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students with communication difficulties, including ASD, SLCN, and SEMH needs.
  • Strong assessment and intervention skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a school environment.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • 29.6 hours per week (part-time, flexible working considered).
