1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chichester, supporting children with SEND needs. This full-time position is ideal for someone with experience working with primary-aged children and a strong understanding of special educational needs (SEND).

Role Details:

  • Location: Chichester Primary School
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Pay: £84 per day (inclusive of 12.07% PAYE holiday pay)
  • Contract: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEND needs.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support classroom activities, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to implement individual support plans.
  • Foster a positive, patient, and understanding approach to learning.
  • Encourage social and emotional development through active engagement.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEND needs and strategies for support.
  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive attitude.
  • A passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
