About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic team at a special needs school in Horsham. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and development of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.

  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of each child.

  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide a holistic approach to education.

  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

  • Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best possible support for each student.

  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and understanding of SEND.

  • Uphold the school’s ethos and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching methods and behaviour management strategies.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to teaching.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for inclusive education.
