Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEND)
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £97 per day (Temporary), Over £22,000 per annum once Permanent
Contract: Monday – Friday, Temp to Perm (after 12 weeks)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive and dynamic team at a special needs school in Horsham. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and development of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), focusing on upper primary and secondary-aged students.
Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of each child.
Assist students with their learning, promoting independence and confidence.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a holistic approach to education.
Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
Maintain strong communication with teachers, parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best possible support for each student.
Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and understanding of SEND.
Uphold the school’s ethos and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of differentiated support methods and behaviour management strategies.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
