Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEND)
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £97 per day (Temporary), Over £22,000 per annum once Permanent
Contract: Monday – Friday, Temp to Perm (after 12 weeks)

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive and dynamic team at a special needs school in Horsham. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and development of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), focusing on upper primary and secondary-aged students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.

  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of each child.

  • Assist students with their learning, promoting independence and confidence.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a holistic approach to education.

  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

  • Maintain strong communication with teachers, parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best possible support for each student.

  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and understanding of SEND.

  • Uphold the school’s ethos and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of differentiated support methods and behaviour management strategies.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting learning.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for inclusive education.
