Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 15:00 (Term Time Only)
A nursery in Shoreham is seeking a Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join their team, providing high-quality early years education and care for young children. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about supporting early development and creating a nurturing, engaging learning environment.
In this role, you will work closely with children to encourage their development through play, structured activities, and tailored learning experiences. You will be responsible for supporting children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth, ensuring they feel safe and valued. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of early years development, EYFS frameworks, and the importance of language, communication, and social skills in young children. You will work as part of a dedicated team, fostering curiosity and creativity in a safe and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Support children’s learning and development through structured play and interaction
- Ensure children’s physical, social, and emotional needs are met throughout the day
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a warm and inclusive environment
- Monitor and document children’s progress and contribute to their learning journey
- Follow all nursery policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour management
Essential Experience/Attributes:
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) – essential
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
- A caring, patient, and nurturing approach to working with young children
- Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to be adaptable and responsive to the needs of children
- Must be able to understand and follow the nursery’s safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies
