Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning, working closely with teachers to plan, deliver, and assess educational activities. This role involves working with individuals, small groups, and whole classes across a range of subjects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Teaching and Learning: Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, providing targeted support to students to enhance their learning experiences.

  • Classroom Management: Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

  • Individual and Group Support: Work with students individually or in small groups to provide tailored assistance, helping to meet their specific learning needs.

  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of educational materials and resources, supporting differentiated instruction to cater to diverse student abilities.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Assist in assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of their achievements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, other HLTAs, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational experience for all students.

  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay updated with the latest educational practices.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HLTA Status: Accredited HLTA status or willingness to work towards achieving it.

  • Experience: Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting.

  • Education: Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.

  • Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Knowledge: A solid understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.

  • Flexibility: Adaptability and a positive attitude towards change and new challenges
