Job Title: SEND Primary Teacher

Location: Brighton and Hove

Salary: Paid to scale from day one

Contract: Monday – Friday 8.30-3.30 – Temp to perm (Term Time Only)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons and interventions to meet the individual needs of SEND students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to provide personalised support and accommodations for SEND students.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and external agencies to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly to promote meaningful learning outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and developments in SEND education to continuously improve teaching practice.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with specialised training or experience in SEND education preferred.
  • Previous experience working with SEND students in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
