Full-Time Special Needs Primary Teacher – Heathfield

We are seeking an experienced Special Needs Primary Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will help teach and support students with special needs in a supportive and inclusive environment. This is a full-time position. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering lessons to students with special needs, according to the school curriculum.
  • Assessing and monitoring the progress of students.
  • Developing and adapting teaching materials to cater to individual student needs.
  • Working with other teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide students with the best possible learning environment.
  • Assisting with school events and activities.
  • Liaising with other professionals such as educational psychologists and social workers.
  • Providing guidance and support to students and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of students.
  • Staying up to date with educational developments.

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent 
  • Proven experience working with special needs students.
  • Proficient in behaviour management.
  • SEND experience.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Ability to work with students of all ages in the primary phase.
  • Patience and understanding of students with special needs.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
