English Teacher (SEMH) – Rural Guildford, Surrey – Full-time – Paid to the TPS. 

We are looking for a Secondary Teacher of English to work in a Social Emotional & Mental Health school, working with young people. The ideal candidate should have QTS or be incredibly experienced in teaching within this field is also considered. The key skills that the teacher will need include: 

• Excellent communication skills

• Patience and empathy

• Passion for teaching English to young people

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Flexibility and adaptability

• Excellent organisational skills

• Ability to manage challenging behaviour

Role Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with our experienced teaching team to provide tailored support for young people facing mental health challenges and exhibiting challenging behaviours.

Implement the school’s behaviour management strategies and techniques to create a structured and positive classroom environment.

Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere that encourages emotional well-being and personal growth.

Work collaboratively with other teachers, counsellors, and therapists to facilitate holistic development for students.

Create a calm and organised classroom setting.
