Teaching Assistant Role

Job Purpose:

Support classroom teaching and supervise pupils throughout the school day to promote effective learning.

Main Duties:

1. Support the Teacher

• Prepare materials and create learning aids

• Assist with group and individual activities

• Support behavioral, social, and emotional learning

• Participate in staff meetings and school events

2. Support Pupils

• Assist pupils with their work and specific learning needs

• Encourage independence and confidence

• Provide strategies to handle problems

• Build positive relationships and act as a role model

• Liaise with teachers, social workers, and parents

3. Assessment & Monitoring

• Keep records of pupil progress

• Assist in reporting achievements

4. Other Duties

• Supervise break-time activities

• Participate in educational trips

• Use your unique skills in practical activities

• Take part in training and development
