Key Responsibilities:

  • Be able to deliver pre-set work and adapt this to suit the different learning needs of the pupils.
  • Direct and collaborate with support staff to ensure smooth and effective delivery of lessons.
  • Supervise the children and ensure their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Maintain classroom management and uphold the school’s behavioural policies.
  • Provide constructive feedback to pupils, supporting their academic progress.
  • Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed.

Essential Experience/Attributes:

  • Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with additional needs and adapting lessons to suit the various learning challenges of pupils.
  • A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work within a team
  • The ability to be adaptable, remain calm in challenging situations, and respond to the needs of the pupils
  • Must be able to understand and follow the school’s safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies
