We are looking for enthusiastic and resilient individuals to join our school in Worthing as a SEND Teaching Assistant. This is an incredible opportunity to support children with complex needs, including non-verbal students and those who may present aggressive challenging behaviour, fostering their growth, development, and independence.
Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (Term time only)
Salary: £84 – £88 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Worthing
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with our experienced teaching team to:
Provide tailored support to primary-aged pupils with a variety of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, sensory needs, and complex behaviours.
Assist with personal care and daily routines where necessary.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour using established strategies.
Facilitate engaging learning activities, interventions, and play-based support.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide holistic care and education.
We’re seeking individuals with the following qualities and experience:
Personal or professional experience with SEND, whether through work, volunteering, or supporting family members.
Enthusiasm for working with children who have complex needs and may exhibit challenging behaviour.
A proactive, active, and hands-on approach to learning and care.
Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
The ability to adapt to the diverse emotional and behavioural needs of students.
Interest or studies in psychology, education, or related fields (advantageous but not essential).

To be successful in this role, you must:
Be eligible to work in the UK or hold a relevant work visa.
Provide references and complete an Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this).
