Are you passionate about inspiring students to understand the world through the lens of history, geography, and other humanities subjects? We are looking for a dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic secondary school in Battle, East Sussex. This is an exciting opportunity to help students develop a deep understanding of the world around them while making a real impact on their education.

About the Role:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will:

  • Teach engaging and stimulating lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, covering a broad range of humanities topics such as History, Geography, and more.
  • Inspire students to develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of societal, historical, and geographical concepts.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and vibrant learning environment where students feel encouraged to engage and ask questions.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students progress and reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities department to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is advantageous, but applications from experienced UQTs (Unqualified Teachers) with relevant experience are also welcome.
  • Experience: Experience in teaching humanities subjects at secondary level is desirable, but a passion for the subject and a commitment to student success are essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
  • Attitude: A genuine enthusiasm for humanities and a desire to inspire students to engage with the world in meaningful ways.
  • DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS check (or the willingness to obtain one).
