Temporary Teaching Assistant

Role Details:

• Start Date: Next Term or As Soon As Possible
• Pay: £84 per day, with potential to transition to a permanent role
• Working Hours: Term Time Only, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30

About You: Our ideal Teaching Assistant is:

• Resilient and confident
• Skilled in managing behaviour (as challenging behaviour may arise)
• Organised and proactive
• Friendly, approachable, and an effective team player
• Experienced in working with young people, either professionally or personally

Relevant Backgrounds (including but not limited to):

• Care Work, Youth Work, Sports Coaching, or Nursery Experience
• Studies or careers in Psychology, Criminology, or Child Development
• Volunteering in schools, youth clubs, or mental health roles
• Personal experience with SEND or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs

Your Impact: In this role, you’ll work closely with young people, especially those with SEND or SEMH needs, helping them develop skills and confidence. SEMH support is particularly essential, as many students with these needs experience complex emotional challenges and may communicate through their behaviour. Your patience, empathy, and understanding will be key to helping them thrive.
