An exciting position is available for a Year 2 Teacher at a primary school in Brighton. This role involves guiding pupils as they refine their foundational skills and prepare for Key Stage 2. You will be responsible for planning interactive lessons, monitoring pupil development, and offering the support children need to excel. The successful candidate will be passionate about helping pupils build confidence in literacy, numeracy, and social skills at this pivotal stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons that align with the Year 2 curriculum and reflect individual pupil needs.
  • Evaluate and track pupil performance, using assessment outcomes to inform next steps.
  • Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere, encouraging pupils to participate and explore new concepts.
  • Work with colleagues to share best practice and coordinate planning and resources.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and carers to celebrate achievements and address any concerns.

Essential Experience/Attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching or training relevant to KS1, especially Year 2.
  • Ability to adapt teaching materials to varied learning styles.
  • Confident class management skills and effective teaching techniques.
  • A DBS check registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
