Job Title: SEND English Teacher

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Paid to scale

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised education plans for students with SEND, tailored to their unique needs and abilities.
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons and activities that address a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to support students in achieving their academic and developmental goals.
  • Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to create a cohesive support network for students with SEND.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as needed.
  • Advocate for the needs of students with SEND within the school community and ensure they have access to appropriate resources and accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in the development of Individual Education Plans and other relevant documentation.

Requirements:

  • QTS or plenty of experienced in SEND/SEMH as an unqualified teacher
  • Experience working with students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
  • A strength and experience with teaching English
  • Strong understanding of different learning styles and strategies for accommodating diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of students with SEND.
