Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Hours: Part-time, Mornings Only

This part-time role is perfect for someone who is passionate about working with children and can bring energy and enthusiasm to the classroom. The role would include providing general classroom support and some 1:1 assistance. While a specialism in SEN is not essential, experience in a school setting or working with children with additional needs would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general support across the classroom, helping pupils stay engaged and focused.
  • Assist with 1:1 support for a pupil requiring additional guidance during lessons.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement learning activities and manage resources.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom setting.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their learning and development.

Essential Experience/Attributes:

  • Previous experience working in a school or with children in an educational setting.
  • An understanding of or experience with children who have additional needs.
  • A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • A patient, empathetic, and approachable attitude towards supporting children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and teachers.
  • The ability to adapt to different situations and respond to the needs of the pupils.
  • Must be able to understand and follow the school’s safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies.
  • Any relevant qualifications in education or child development would be advantageous but are not required.
