We are excited to offer an amazing opportunity for a dedicated and passionate IT Teacher to join our expanding team at a newly opened SEMH school in Worthing. Located in a fantastic area with excellent public transport links and ample parking for drivers, this rapidly growing school is set to welcome 80 students by the new year. We are looking for committed staff who are eager to be part of this journey and grow alongside the school.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching IT: Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated IT lessons that meet the diverse needs of students, fostering their interest in technology and digital skills.
- Tailored Support: Work closely with students to understand their individual learning styles, adapting lessons to ensure all students can access the curriculum effectively.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment, using behaviour management strategies to support students with SEMH needs in managing their emotions and behaviours during lessons.
- Monitoring Progress: Track and assess students’ academic and personal development, providing constructive feedback to help them build their confidence and progress in IT.
- Collaborative Working: Work closely with colleagues, including teaching assistants, SEN specialists, and pastoral staff, ensuring a holistic approach to supporting each student’s needs.
- Encouraging Engagement: Motivate students to engage with technology, participate in discussions, and develop essential IT skills for the future. Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage participation and progress.
Candidate Qualities:
- Passionate Educator: A love for teaching IT and a commitment to helping students develop their understanding of technology and digital literacy.
- Experience in SEN/SEMH Settings: Ideally, candidates will have experience working in SEN or SEMH environments, supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Patience and Empathy: Ability to form strong relationships with students, demonstrating patience and understanding, especially when managing challenging behaviours.
- Adaptability: A flexible approach to teaching, with the ability to adjust lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet the varying needs of students.
- Team Player: Strong collaborative skills, working effectively with other staff members to create a supportive, consistent learning environment.
