Teaching Assistant Role
Overview:
Join our dedicated team at our specialist school, where we provide therapeutic and child-focused education for boys aged 8-18 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH) as well as other Special Educational Needs (SEND), such as Autism and ADHD. We offer extensive therapeutic training and support to all staff.
Role Description:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students with complex behaviours. You’ll need to be resilient, adaptable, and patient, ready to handle a variety of tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with teaching and learning activities
Work one-on-one or with small groups of students
Manage classroom materials and resources
Accompany students on educational outings
Provide social support during lunchtimes
Ensure student safety with strong behaviour management
Engage students in games and activities to build social skills
Celebrate student achievements and participate in therapeutic training
